OPPOSITION IS HOLDING A MEETING IN SUKHUM

Wednesday, 03 March 2021 17:07 368

Sukhum. March 2, 2021. Apsnypress. Several dozen people gathered on Freedom Square in Sukhum, outraged by the information on social networks about the trip of the presidential adviser on foreign economic issues Benur Kviraya to Georgia.

“Today we gathered at Freedom Square because of the information that appeared in social networks about the trip to Georgia of the RA President's adviser on foreign economic relations, as well as because of the video, which says about the laying of the park named after David Kvaratskhelia, who fought against us in 1992-1993. Now we are planning to go to the Parliament and ask the deputies' opinion on the current situation.

This is not the first time advisers of the head of state hehave like this. Lasha Sakania, being an adviser, met Georgian parliamentarians who illegally crossed the state border along the Ingur River and came here with icons. This kind of action can have adverse consequences. The silence of the deputies of the Parliament, the Presidential Office and the Amtsakhara organization surprises me. I think that before the people go to the Parliament, there will be made a decision of President's adviser resignation, ” chairman of the public organization "Aruaa" Timur Gulia.

At one o'clock in the afternoon, the protesters moved to the Parliament building.

The leaders of opposition organizations Aslan Bartsits (Forum of National Unity of Abkhazia party), Vitaly Gabniya (Apsny party), Timur Gulia (NGO Aruaa) and Timur Nadaraya entered the Parliament building.

After one of the activists of the opposition political forces, the ex-head of the Gal district Administration Temur Nadaraya talked with the Speaker of the Parliament Valeriy Kvarchia, he went to the audience and said that the speaker and the deputies also reacted sharply to the video that appeared on the social network.

According to Nadaraya, no trade and economic relations are allowed until Georgia recognizes the independence of Abkhazia. “As for the Parliament, it must make a decision that there are no trade and economic relations between Abkhazia and Georgia,” he said.

“The issues of Georgian-Abkhaz relations are being resolved in Geneva and at the Ingur hydroelectric power station. And if someone wants to officially engage in trade with Georgia, we will regard this as treason. I didn’t think that those guys with whom we fought together 27 years ago would talk about trade relations with Georgia today, ” Nadaraya said.

Nadaraya also stressed that no one has the right to name the park after a person who fought against Abkhazia.
