HALO TRUST WILL CONTINUE TO PARTICIPATE IN PROJECTS TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF THE COVID-19 VIRUS

Sukhum. October 9, 2020. Apsnypress. Deputy Foreign Minister Irakli Tuzhba met with representatives of HALO Trust - regional manager for the Caucasus and the Balkans Smart Nicholas and program manager in Abkhazia Esmet Zade, the RA MFA press service reported.

There were discussed organization's current projects, including demining in the village of Primorskoye (an explosion of an ammunition depot took place in Primorskoye in August 2017)

They also discussed the planned projects to restore infrastructure in rural areas of Abkhazia, as well as projects aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus infection COVID-19.

Irakli Tuzhba noted the importance of the work carried out by the HALO Trust, and also focused on the need to continue projects aimed at combating the COVID-19 coronavirus, which continues to spread throughout the world and causes significant damage to the safety and health of people.

Representatives of the HALO Trust also noted that in addition to the organization's main activities aimed at demining, its representatives will continue to participate in projects to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The HALO Trust is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the clearance of landmines and unexploded ordnance that can pose a threat to civilians.
