As the press service of the RA Parliament reported, the Conference participants will work in the videoconference mode on 15-16 October. This format for holding the SRPA conference was already successfully tested in May this year due to the difficult sanitary and epidemiological situation caused by the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Today throughout the day, meetings of eight committees of the SRPA will be held:

on legislation, state building and local self-government;

on social policy, labor and health care;

on budget, taxes and property;

on agrarian issues and nature management;

on interethnic relations, inter-parliamentary relations, physical culture, sports, tourism and youth affairs; for construction, housing and communal services, energy, transport and communications;

on education, Science, Culture and Information Policy of the SRPA Committee;

on agrarian issues and environmental management;

on economic policy, industry and foreign economic relations.

Deputies of fourteen parliaments, members of the South Russian Parliamentary Association will discuss legislative initiatives, appeals and other issues of concern of voters at the sites of SRPA committees.

There will take a place a meeting of the Council of the South Russian Parliamentary Association on October 16, in which the heads of parliaments will participate, and then a general plenary meeting.

In the course of preparation for the Conference at the site of the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia, the videoconferencing system was tested and all technical issues were worked out. The South Russian Parliamentary Association includes eight permanent members (State Council - Khase of the Republic of Adygea, Duma of the Astrakhan region, Volgograd Regional Duma, People's Khural (Parliament) of the Republic of Kalmykia, Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar Territory, Legislative Assembly of Rostov Region, State Council of the Republic of Crimea and Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol) and five associate members (People's Assembly - Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia, the People's Assembly of the Republic of Ingushetia, the People's Assembly (Parliament) of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, the Parliament of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the Duma of the Stavropol Territory (joined the South-Russian Parliamentary Association as an associate member by the decision of the XXXII SRPA Conference held in May 2020).

Fifteen years ago, on September 30, 2005, the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia joined the South Russian Parliamentary Association as an associate member by the decision of VI SPRA Conference.
