When asked how the problem of employment of university graduates is being solved, President said: “As far as I know, 500 students graduate from ASU every year. If we add SOC graduates to them, then this is already 600 people who have received higher education. More than 100 people graduate from Russian universities. If you take all together, there are over 700 graduates. 

According to the State Statistics Committee, 42 thousand people officially work in our country. Today this figure has dropped to 39 thousand. But young people who graduate from universities must also find work, and there are not enough places. The situation today is such that officially there are fewer jobs due to the pandemic and a number of other circumstances. 

Take, for example, lawyers, they must deal not only with legislation, they are needed in different spheres of the economy, in different industries, but again there are not enough jobs. It is certainly good that young people are getting higher education. But the state does not yet have a target program according to which a young man who has received education, including outside Abkhazia, returning home would be guaranteed to get a job. Let's see what we can do in the future. Employment issues are directly related to the development of the country's economy. Economic development and the emergence of new jobs are interrelated processes. If we do not use all the opportunities we have and do not develop our economy, the state of affairs will not change. 

All the issues that we discussed at a recent meeting with President of the Russian Federation – energy, gasification, and the construction of a bridge across the border river Psou and the launch of the airport - all this will create new jobs. ” Bzhania also raised the topic of investors and investments into the country's economy. 

“We also discussed the topic of investments. I asked to send potential investors to us in Abkhazia. The first group of investors from Russia will arrive on Saturday, followed by others to study the potential of the republic. If investors come to us, then they want to build something, launch some kind of production, but we must provide them with such an opportunity. An investor who has funds does not need to be convinced especially where it is profitable. For our part, we must minimize all the risks for them, ” the head of state noted.
