The members of the Abkhaz delegation told reporters about the main issues that were discussed at the 51st round. This is the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection in Abkhazia; illegal crossing by Georgian citizens across the Abkhaz-Georgian border; building up the military potential of Georgia; the arrest of citizen Bebua for setting fire to a canvas with Abkhaz symbols.
Deputy Foreign Minister Irakli Tuzhba summed up the results of the negotiations: “We could not come to a common denominator on the main issue - agreeing on the text of an oral statement on international guarantees of non-resumption of hostilities. This time it was not possible to convince the Georgian opponents. But we called on the participants to continue working in this direction. We were supported by both Russian and South Ossetian colleagues. There is a common understanding on the part of the co-chairs and the American delegation about the need to adopt this document. The problem lies exclusively with the Georgian side, which categorically refuses to conduct a dialogue in this direction. "
