Sukhum. February 3, 2021. Apsnypress. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Christina Ozgan presented information on how things are going with the projects implementation initiated by the head of stated at an expanded government meeting held on February 3. It was chaired by President Aslan Bzhania.

There was held a number of meetings at the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Federal Air Transport Agency on the issues of Sukhum airport.

“We have already held three working meetings at the site of the Federal Air Transport Agency. The composition of the group members has been determined. The Abkhaz side sent a package of existing regulatory and legal acts. Unfortunately, we have few of them and will need to prepare a package of documents in this area. The second question is the decision of the legal and organizational-legal status of the airport complex. It is necessary to bring these documents into an appropriate form in order to make further decisions,” Ozgan said.

In addition, the Ministry of Economy is working on a list of gasification specialties. Consultations on this project are currently underway.

“The first is the development of a general gasification scheme for Abkhazia. Together with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Energy, we are carrying out an agreement procedure to resolve this issue. Most likely, Gazprom will be the executor of this project. The process is underway, and we will proceed to the second stage after decisions to determine the sources of financing, as well as the timing of the project are made,” Minister of Economy said.

Further, Ozgan informed about the project of the bridge reconstruction over the border river Psou.

“As part of the 2010 agreement, a new bridge was built, but time goes by and the current citrus season has shown that the capacity of the existing crossing is limited and does not take into account the upward trend, therefore this initiative is supported. Russian colleagues proposed two options for resolving the issue. We want to dwell on the one that involves not just the reconstruction of the bridge, but will expand the possibilities of the border crossing on the Psou River, ” Ozgan said.

According to her, there has been prepared an appeal to the Ministry of Transport of Russia. It will be sent after the necessary approvals here in Abkhazia.
