Opening the meeting, the head of state stressed that tourism is a key sector of the economy of Abkhazia.

“We have different processes in this industry, in some ways we have achieved certain results, but there are also problems. We intend to develop our tourism and cooperate with the Russian Federation in this regard, ” Bzhania said.

Dmitry Davydenko thanked the head of state for the opportunity to meet.

"Our common task is to make sure that more tourists come to you and they leave in a good mood. Many Russian tourists enjoy their holidays here. We, as representatives of Russian tourists, together with the Ministry of Tourism of Abkhazia must do everything to achieve this goal ", - said Davydenko after the meeting.

For his part, Minister of Tourism Teimuraz Khishba noted:" This is the third visit of Dmitry Viktorovich to Abkhazia in the last three months. He provides us with great support. We plan to hold a tourism forum in May together with the Public Council of the Federal Agency for Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Abkhazia. I think we will be able to hold it at a high level. There were discussed the issues of insurance of Russian citizens at the meeting with President, and we believe that we have great prospects for the near future, "  Khishba said.

 Roman Bobylev also spoke about the purposes of his visit to Abkhazia.

“We believe that in 2021 there will be good tourism season. Russian tourists love and know Abkhazia. The country has a potential that is constantly developing. We are talking not only about beach activities, but also about cultural and educational tourism. Recently, the priorities of Russian tourists have changed. There are weekend tours, when residents of the Krasnodar Territory come to Abkhazia for the weekend. We see changes by the season, there is an interest in some eventful things, the same - New Year. We expect that the issues related to the quality of service will also be on top, and that Abkhazia will work on this. After all, the task of any country that positions itself as a tourist country should focus on the quality of service, ” Bobylev said.
