The meeting was attended by Vice President Badra Gunba, Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office Alkhas Kvitsinia, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office Dzhansukh Nanba, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Vladimir Delba, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Christina Ozgan, Chairman of the State Customs Committee Otar Khetsia.

Welcoming the Russian delegation, President expressed confidence that cooperation between the Abkhazian and Russian economic departments will continue successfully.

The meeting discussed the progress in implementation of measures provided in the framework of the Investment Program for Assistance to the Social and Economic Development of the Republic of Abkhazia for 2020-2022.

At the beginning of the meeting, President raised the issue of the Rospotrebnadzor resolution published on the eve of changing the border crossing regime for citizens of the Russian Federation.

“This has raised many questions in Abkhazia. The increased interest is associated with the tourist flow. As you know, tourism is a key branch of the economy of our republic. We hope that in this aspect we will be able to make sure that this does not affect the tourists who will come to us. We expect to receive support and understanding in this matter, ” Bzhania said.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Sergey Nazarov expressed confidence that this issue will be resolved positively.

Further, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Christina Ozgan reported on the implementation progress of the measures provided under the Investment Program for 2020-2022 .

Other issues of Abkhaz-Russian cooperation were also discussed.

The visit of the Russian delegation will last two days.
