Ingur HES was shut down on January 20 for repairs in the diversion tunnel.
The diversion tunnel itself is 9.5 meters in diameter and 15.5 km long. Repair work was carried out according to the plan in the most problematic areas with the highest water losses. Their total length was about three kilometers. In total, from 250 to 280 million kilowatt-hours were lost per year due to water leaks in the diversion tunnel.
The repair work was carried out in three shifts, 22 hours a day.
