Thus, the new UAZ vehicles were transferred to the use of regional police departments, they received new patrol cars and traffic police units, which will increase the number of patrols on the republican highway. The vehicle fleet of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was replenished with a modern, well-equipped paddy wagon and two specially equipped GAZelles for the special forces of the SOBR.

After the inspection, President Aslan Bzhania told reporters that the receipt of new equipment became possible thanks to implementation of one of the clauses of the interstate agreement, in accordance with which the Ministry of Internal Affairs was assisted by the Russian Federation.

Bzhania stressed that such a large-scale material assistance had not been provided before, and new equipment is necessary for the Interior Ministry officers to properly perform operational and service tasks.

“This fits into our agreement and our joint development programs,” President said and reminded that Russia's assistance also provides the increase of salaries by 75% since last year.

“This is also within the framework of a large agreement, one of its points is being implemented,” Bzhania said.

He stressed that he hopes that such a large-scale assistance to the internal affairs bodies from the state will lead to an improvement of the work quality. “The help is justified, it was necessary, it is necessary to continue to help the employees of the internal affairs bodies, but this movement should be two-way. The state supports, creates conditions - the quality of work becomes higher, ” Bzhania said.

President also noted that systemic reforms have not yet been carried out in the internal affairs bodies, but they are being prepared. “I think that by next year, both structurally and organizationally, we will have a different structure, different from what we have today. The process requires a very careful attitude, there is no rush, but gradually we will approach the new standards of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ” Bzhania said.

For his part, Minister of Internal Affairs Dmitry Dbar said that the new equipment arrived within the framework of the agreements for 2020 and this year another 70 units of vehicles are also expected to arrive, and another 60 units are expected to arrive in 2022. “

The material and technical support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has grown exponentially. Special means have been purchased, as well as uniforms for all personnel, ” Dbar said.

The number of personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is 1,700 people.

As Minister noted, there are enough employees in the bodies, their number has increased this year, new personnel have begun to come after the salaries increase.
