“There are a number of issues we need to discuss. It is important for me to hear your opinion. Your experience and merits give you the right to advise us. It will be for the good of our state to listen to the Council of Elders' opinion, ” President said.
The chairman of the Council of Elders Apollo Dumava noted that the Council always stands for creative, progressive, successful development of the country, for a constructive dialogue between various political forces.
“Not a single member of the Council of Elders is a member of a political party. It would be wrong. We are always for the truth and preservation of stability in the country. The Council should not support this or that political side, it is obliged to promote a constructive dialogue between the opposition and the country's leadership, ” he said.
The meeting participants discussed the socio-political situation in the republic.
The head of state and representatives of the Council of Elders agreed that such meetings would be regular.
The main part of the meeting took place without the participation of journalists.
