Minister of Health Eduard Butba, Minister of Emergency Situations Lev Kvitsinia and Chief Sanitary Doctor of the Republic Lyudmila Skorik were invited to the meeting.
Minister of Health reported to members of Security Council on the situation and measures to counter the spread of coronavirus infection.
The minister noted the need to increase beds in medical institutions due to spread of Covid-19. According to Eduard Butba, 40 beds for urgent admission of patients may be prepared in the Oncological Center in Sukhum, if necessary .
The head of state informed the members of the Security Council that a mobile military hospital for 150 beds was again sent to Abkhazia. This agreement has already been reached.
President Aslan Bzhania instructed Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab and Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office Alkhas Kvitsinia, together with the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health, to determine the location of the hospital and create conditions for the stay of invited military doctors within two days.
Aslan Bzhania noted that all the necessary funds will be found to organize a mobile hospital, as well as to maintain Gudauta hospital, Sukhum infectious hospital and other hospitals.
The head of state instructed Alexander Ankvab to take special control over the purchase of expensive drugs for patients with Covid-19.
According to Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab, 197 million rubles were allocated to fight coronavirus infection this year.
President Aslan Bzhania said that he is in constant contact with the Office of President of the Russian Federation on the second batch of Sputnik-V vaccine to Abkhazia delivery.
“We are a priority and this issue will be resolved,” the head of state said.
It was noted at the meeting that thanks to the efforts of our doctors, there has been a tendency for a faster recovery.
President also instructed Prime Minister to hold a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters in the near future and present effective proposals to ensure restrictive measures.
The members of the Security Council also discussed other topical issues.
