The automobile convoy of the military hospital of the Southern Military District made an 800-kilometer march from Budyonnovsk (Stavropol Territory) to Abkhazia within two days.

The mobile hospital is equipped with modern equipment and medicines. The reception department, laboratory and X-ray room will be deployed in the tents. The mobile hospital is designed for 100 beds; if necessary, it is possible to equip another 50 beds.

The hospital is equipped with artificial ventilation devices, monitors for intensive observation of patients, X-ray machines, ultrasound machines, blood analyzers.

According to press service of the Southern Military District, Russia sent a mobile multidisciplinary hospital to Sukhum in order to increase the bed capacity and provide medical care to patients with confirmed diagnosis of a new coronavirus infection by decision of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergey Shoigu's.

Earlier, from October 20, 2020 to March 2021, military doctors of the medical detachment of the Southern Military District have already performed tasks to provide assistance to the Republic of Abkhazia. Doctors have provided assistance to about 4 thousand residents of the republic. More than 18 thousand various clinical studies were carried out, including more than 5.3 thousand PCR tests, more than 2 thousand plain chest radiographs.
