The international military exercises Enternity-2021 began in Georgia with participation of military personnel from Azerbaijan and Turkey on October 4 of this year. According to the available information, the military personnel of the three countries will fulfill the tasks of organizing the protection of regional economic projects. The exercises will last until October 8.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia regards the conduct of such military exercises as a dangerous provocative attack aimed at encouraging Georgia's military ambitions.

There is a strong impression that the Georgian authorities have seriously decided to create on their territory a kind of training ground for practicing military operations against an unnamed enemy. Moreover, the military power and potential of the United States and NATO are no longer sufficient for Georgian strategists. In recent years Tbilisi has been actively deepening military ties with Ankara and Baku.

The declared goals of such military exercises cannot be misled either. It is well known what statements sometimes covered up military preparations, once it was said about the need to protect the railway, but now it may be necessary to “protect regional economic projects”.

Georgia should not forget that such feverish military activity at any moment can lead to unpredictable consequences and create a real threat to the existing architecture of regional security.

The Republic of Abkhazia does not disregard the actively ongoing process of militarization of Georgia and, if necessary, is ready to take appropriate actions to protect their territory and ensure the safety of their citizens.
