The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Daur Kove.

Cihan Sultanoglu thanked the President for the meeting and noted that they have a wide range of issues to discuss in anticipation of the upcoming 55th round of the International Geneva Discussions, which is scheduled for December 7 and 8.

The Geneva discussions on security and stability in the Transcaucasus have been held since October 2008 on the basis of agreements reached after the events of August 2008 in South Ossetia. At the moment, this is the only platform for dialogue between representatives of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Georgia.

Discussions are mediated by representatives of Russia, the United States, as well as the UN, OSCE and the EU.
