In accordance with the decree of President of the Republic of Abkhazia dated November 6, 2006 No. UP-149 "On the coordinating role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia in the implementation of a single foreign policy of the Republic of Abkhazia", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the main coordinating body in the field of relations with foreign states and international organizations.
"Programs (projects) planned for implementation on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia by foreign non-governmental and international organizations are subject to mandatory approval by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia in accordance with the procedure established by the Temporary Regulation on the procedure for implementing programs (projects) of foreign non-governmental and international organizations on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia. (approved by the Decree of President of the Republic of Abkhazia dated May 4, 2019 No. 108 "On some measures for the implementation of programs (projects) of foreign non-governmental and international organizations on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia", the statement says.
The RA MFA reminds that when foreign non-governmental and international organizations carry out their activities on the territory of Abkhazia, including when preparing meetings with representatives of the republic's youth, organizing discussions, round tables and seminars, distributing information materials, as well as preparing meetings with representatives of the leadership and public organizations of Georgia, a mandatory preliminary agreement with the Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia is required.
In addition, foreign non-governmental and international organizations must submit to the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports on the activities for programs (projects) implementation, the personnel composition of employees, as well as documents containing information on the sources of funding and the purposes of spending these funds.
