A 74 years old patient was admitted to Sukhum Hospital in severe condition on Friday, 4 September.

According to clinical picture there was made a decision to hospitalise the patient to Gudauta Hospital. However, the patient's condition worsened even more.  She died on the way, despite all the efforts of doctors. The PCR analysis taken upon admission to Sukhum Hospital gave a positive result for Covid-19.

 Currently, there are 45 patients at Gudauta Central Hospital. All with confirmed Covid-19. 7 are in severe condition, 13 of moderate severity. 

The total number of coronavirus cases in Abkhazia is 516 people today. 157 recovered, 5 people died.

The operational headquarters also presented general statistics of those infected with coronavirus infection in the regions of Abkhazia from the moment the first patient appeared on 6 September, 2020. 

• Sukhum and Sukhum district - 376
• Gudauta district - 66 people
• Gagra district - 38 people
• Ochamchira district - 25 people
• Gulripsh district - 9 people
• Tkuarchal district - 2 people 

District statistics are based on patients' biomaterials abstraction points which may not coincide with where they live.
