Veterans gather, remember the events of those days, visit the graves, commemorate the fallen comrades.

At 10:00 a solemn ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the Memorial to the fallen soldiers began. Representatives of the "Mothers of Abkhazia for Peace and Social Justice" movement, war veterans, volunteers, President Aslan Bzhania, Speaker of Parliament Valery Kvarchia, MPs, members of the government, Russian Ambassador to Abkhazia Alexey Dvinyanin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev, members of the public came to bow to the graves of the defenders of the Fatherland.

President Aslan Bzhania also honored the memory of Presidents Vladislav Ardzinba and Sergey Bagapsh, whose names are associated with the victory in the war and the achievement of international recognition of independence.

He laid flowers at the Memorial of the First President Vladislav Ardzinba in the village of Nizhnyaya Eshera and at the grave of the Second President Sergey Bagapsh in the village of Dzhgarda.
