Teimuraz Khishba, Minister of Tourism of Abkhazia and Dmitry Davydenko, Chairman of the Public Council under the Federal Agency for Tourism signed the document.

According to Memorandum, the Abkhaz and Russian sides will create favorable conditions for cooperation in the field of tourism and help protect the rights of consumers of tourism services.

Heads of the tourism departments of RA and Russian Federation will contribute to relations development between public associations operating in the field of tourism, the hospitality industry and the protection of the rights of tourists. They will also support public initiatives aimed at improving the quality of services in the tourism sector, increasing the level of tourism safety.

The Memorandum spelled out the need to promote tourism development  for persons with disabilities and other low-mobility groups of the population. The parties undertake to promote organized group and individual tourism, will exchange experts and specialized groups, including for the purpose of attending music and theater festivals, congresses, exhibitions, symposia and congresses held on tourism issues. The Memorandum also refers to the obligatory mutual exchange of statistical, reference, information, advertising, and other materials in the field of tourism, as well as scientists, officials and journalists specializing in tourism and travel.

The Abkhaz and Russian sides intend to develop interaction in the field of tourism marketing and promotion of tourism products, to assist each other in carrying out relevant activities in both territories.

The parties are also going to conduct joint research of the tourism market, collect information on investment projects, identify areas of tourism investment. The Press Service of the RA Ministry of Tourism reported.
