Due to the aggravation of the COVID-19 pandemic in France and the inability of local authorities to provide guarantees for the tournament, the CONIFA committee decided to cancel the tournament this year, according to the Abkhaz Football Federation.

The CONIFA European Committee reserves the right to set a new date for the tournament, but will postpone any decision until August 2021. The committee will monitor the pandemic situation and the vaccination process in various European countries.

The European Football Championship CONIFA-2021 was to be held from 9 to 19 June. The rivals of the national team of Abkhazia in group "B" were the teams of Sapmi and the Sekeysky region.
