The head of state thanked the Syrian Prime Minister for the warm welcome extended to the Abkhaz delegation.

“There was a meeting with President of Syria, Mr. Bashar al-Assad yesterday. It was informative and took place in a friendly atmosphere. We discussed a number of issues of common interest during this meeting. As noted the day before at a meeting with the head of state, the time to move on to a practical plane has come. This is what we will do within the framework of the intergovernmental commission. I am glad to meet you personally, " Aslan Bzhania said.

President of Abkhazia promised to make every effort to establish close economic contacts between Abkhazia and Syria.

"Our countries are in the blockade regime, if we can partially unblock some industries, it will benefit our citizens, ” said Aslan Bzhania.
