The meeting was attended by heads of four fuel companies selling oil products in Abkhazia.
They told the leadership of the Ministry of Economy about the financial condition of the organizations, noting that a steady rise in purchase prices for gasoline contributes to the a fuel crisis in the country.
According to representatives of the fuel companies, all of them are already operating at a loss, despite the recent increase in the marginal cost of petroleum products.
“The purchase price rises with every delivery, we keep retail prices in unpopular ways, stopping wholesales. That is, we sell our gasoline at our gas stations. This measure allows us to cover the needs of the retail consumer. But the financial part of the enterprise still remains at a loss. We need some kind of solution that will allow us to prevent a crisis and to work for our companies in acceptable conditions ”, - that was said at the meeting.
The meeting participants discussed regulatory measures to overcome the situation, the possibility of applying a delay in customs payments and changes in the marginal cost of petroleum products, government subsidies and much more.
At the end of the meeting, Christina Ozgan asked the fuel companies, despite the difficulties, to carry out the August purchase of gasoline in the volume of the necessary demand, taking into account the holiday season. She assured that the working conditions for the participants of the fuel market will be revised in the near future.
