“We have a difficult situation in the energy sector. The measures taken earlier did not give the desired effect. There are required additional measures. On Monday, we will submit to Parliament bills providing amendments, including to Code of Administrative Offenses, we ask you to support them. The proposals relate to strengthening measures for illegal cryptocurrency mining. Namely, a multiple increase in penalties. The bills also provide such a measure as equipment confiscation, and, if required, a measure of criminal liability, ” President said.

Bzhania asked parliamentarians not to postpone such an important issue on the back burner and consider it as soon as possible. “Chernomorenergo or the Ministry of Internal Affairs alone cannot solve this issue. There needed a well-coordinated joint work,” President stressed.

Parliament Speaker Valeriy Kvarchia noted that he supports the President's initiative.

“We in Parliament, and our entire people, are ripe to toughen laws against those who ignore the interests of their people and state. We must quickly and jointly resolve this issue, and I think the parliament will support your bills, ” Speaker said.
