“According to Garibashvili, the Georgian authorities should complete the process of delimitation and demarcation of the border, but with the Russian Federation. “And this, of course, will happen within the borders of a united Georgia,” he said.

It is difficult to call the position expressed by I. Garibashvili on such an important state issue adequate. One can endlessly pretend that "united Georgia" still exists, but one can hardly seriously consider that such an attitude will change the current state of affairs in the region.

It should be reminded to Prime Minister of Georgia that the Abkhaz side has already addressed the Georgian side with an appeal to start substantive work on the process of delimiting the state border between Abkhazia and Georgia and its subsequent demarcation. Georgia, in particular, was proposed to create an appropriate commission and determine the composition of its participants. The Republic of Abkhazia is in the process of forming a commission for the delimitation and demarcation of the state border with Georgia. We expect an adequate response from the Georgian side to our proposal. We hope that the Georgian side will not delay the formation of a similar commission. After that, the parties will be able to start working together.

We call on the Georgian authorities to take this issue seriously. Otherwise, the process of delimitation and demarcation of the state border will be carried out unilaterally.
