Health Minister Eduard Butba confirmed the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in the country.

"The situation with coronavirus spread in the republic is worsening. The average daily incidence rate has been growing recently. On October 12 there was set an anti-record of the daily detection of the disease - 235 people. About 85-90% of the number of detected coronavirus patients are infected with the Delta strain," he said.

According to minister, the number of inpatients is growing, the covid wards are full, and the disease itself is more complicated.

"The hospital of Sukhum infectious hospital is full, the Russian mobile military hospital of the RF Ministry of Defense is also operating at its peak, and it is planned to deploy 30 additional beds. In Gudauta Covid Hospital, if necessary, will be deployed additional departments to treat patients diagnosed with COVID-19, for a total of up to 240 beds.
